The Morley Meander, organised by Jonathan Greenway, is on Saturday, April 23rd and we could do some more entries. We also may well be asking for some helping hands on it very soon.
It’s 113 km (70 miles on old money) starting from Morley Village Hall and there will be a control at Halesworth and three other points to visit and collect information. You can stop for late breakfast, tea and cake, or early lunch in Bungay or Halesworth and it promises to be a very pleasant Saturday ride.
You can enter via the Audax UK website here: http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/16-141/
SUNDAY Club rides reverted to their usual summer time with British summertime – they now leave the Forum at 0900 on a Sunday morning and will do so until the clocks change back again.
EVENING rides will resume from Tuesday May 2nd. Details of the rides are here: https://vcnorwich.co.uk/rides/ but in short, Tuesdays are fast and open to anyone, Wednesday are VCN only club rides so no dropping people please, and Thursdays, VCN only again, are fast training rides.
Whose up for a bit of mileage?
As the Norfolk Motor Group Sportive Trophy competition enters its third year the first two months have seen the usual bumper crop of miles from two-times champion Jonathan Greenway.
I find myself in third spot after what can be described only as a brave ride with a thigh strain and a broken chain to contend with.
So where do you stand in the Sportive Trophy table?
It’s a league table of miles ridden in organised, measured rides such as sportives, reliabilities and audaxes which must be completed wearing club kit (in order to get the sponsor name out there).
There’s no deadline (yet) on entering mileage for previous months which are emailed to email@example.com
So if you have braved the wind and the cold over the past couple of months let us know and get some more names on the board.
