For 2014 we will be revising the club’s membership renewal and application process. This is to follow up on the repeated requests we have for an on line process and in an attempt to simplify the task for our hard worked membership secretary … if it all works as planned they may even be able to get out and ride their bike in 2014. In the meantime please bear with us as the new process will take a week or so to set up. You will be glad to hear that we will NOT be revising our membership fees which will remain unchanged for yet another year.
We will send a reminder to all our existing members as usual as soon as we are up and running.
It’s time for a look back at what VC Norwich has done this year … and a look forward to what’s coming. And it’s also your chance to have a say in what happens.
We have a draft agenda – but if there is something you want to talk about then we can put it on as ‘any other business’. If you have something you want to raise please email info@vcnorwich.co.uk.
We’re also keen to hear from anyone who wants to help run the club and events in the coming year. You can do as much or as little as you like. We are looking for people to join the club committee or to organise events. If you think you can help please get in touch as above or have a word on the night.
AGENDA:
1. Apologies
2. Minutes of the meeting on 25 Nov 2012
3. Matters arising
4. 2013 Chairman’s and Section Reports
5. 2014 Committee election
6. 2014 Club Subscriptions and proposed changes to membership renewal process
7. 2014 Affiliations
8. 2014 Sponsorship and Club Awards
9. 2014 Events and Organisation
10. AOB
Please make every effort to attend on Monday, 8pm, at the White Horse to help us make the club even better in 2014. There’s tea and coffee laid on and we hope to have time for a drink in the bar and a chat afterwards.
And if you have ordered new club kit, winter and summer varieties, it will be available for collection on the night from Clive Rayner.
So … club chat, free tea and coffee and new kit … where else would you want to be on a Monday night.

NMG Sportive Trophy
VCN Hill Climb – 20th Oct results
A strong headwind on the main climb made the VCN Hill Climb even more of a
challenge than it would have been normally and made sure the course record (set 45 years ago) remained safe for another year. Thanks to all who came and raced and supported and well done Sam Carter who just managed to pip Mark Farrow for first place. Same time different course next year. And maybe we’ll take Mark Smart’s suggestion to find the fastest freewheeler down the hill too!

EVENING RIDES FINISH
The VCN Evening Rides on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays have now come to an
end, due to the nights drawing in so quickly and it not being possible to ensure that everyone gets back and home before dark.
This does not prevent people still meeting up to do their own evening rides, just that they won’t be run by the club.
Many thanks to all VCN members and our numerous friends from other clubs (plus the weather of course) for making these rides so enjoyable this year. They will start up again in April next year, and we will advertise the dates nearer the time.
